Engineer for our client, a leading manufacturer of optics
technology for the defense, aerospace and commercial
industries.Location: Deer Park, NY (on-site)Site is ITAR
regulatedCompensation: Base salary starting at $150 and upThe
Senior Electronics Engineer is responsible for developing systems,
architectures, processes and procedures for active optics products.
Will provide technical leadership in the development of analogue,
digital, optoelectronic and power supply circuits. Perform circuit
level and system level simulations and analysis to minimize design
risk and prove theoretical system performance. Conduct board level
and system level testing, debugging, optimization. Document and
conduct thorough peer reviews, block diagrams, specifications and
requirements.Highlighted Skills:*Photonics, electro-optics, LIDAR,
transimpedance amplifiers, sensors and systems*Strong analog design
skills including active and passive filtering, board level power
supplies, low noise design techniques.*EMC, design for MIL-STD 461,
MIL-1275, shock/vibration/temperature extremes for harsh
environments.*MATHCAD/Comsol or equivalent modelling/analysis
tools*Embedded software engineering and/or VHDL/FPGA
designResponsibilities:*Work with the Director of Active Optics to
determine electronic architecture, specifications and requirements
and lead the development team to realize these designs.*Design and
develop analog, digital, optoelectronic circuits and power
supplies.*Perform circuit level and system level simulations and
analysis to minimize design risk and prove theoretical system
performance.*Conduct board level and system level testing,
debugging, optimization.*Document and conduct thorough peer
reviews, block diagrams, specifications etc.Requirements:*Minimum
Bachelor's degree- electronics/electrical engineering or
equivalent.*Strong analog and digital design skills, including
optoelectronics, thermal, EMC and safety considerations.*Knowledge
of embedded C and ARM cortex, as well as FPGA/VHDL
development*Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and
verbal communication skills*Experience taking ownership of complex
projects and producing successful outcomes*Demonstrated critical
thinking skills, with strong time management and organization
skills*Naturally team oriented and creative, with a mission-first
attitudeExperience:*Electronics and systems design, schematic
capture, PCB design: 10 years (Required)*Working in complex
multi-disciplinary projects including optics, optoelectronics and
sensors 10 years (Required)*Altium: 2 years (Required)The salary
range for this position is $150,000-$180,000/yearIt is Northwell
