Job Title: Director of Intensive Service Unit
Job Summary: CASES is currently seeking a highly organized and
detail-oriented Intensive Services Unit Director to oversee and
manage the daily operations across multiple program sites, as our
Intensive Services Unit requires a NYC-wide fieldwork Initiative.
We are seeking a seasoned mission-driven Director with proven
leadership, direct-service and supervision skills to assist our
staff in delivering services to the highest standards of both a
social service and court-based diversion program. The Director will
play a multifaceted and pivotal role in overseeing the development,
implementation and management of the ISU Team to ensure program
effectiveness. The Director will provide guidance, support and
supervision to address any challenges or issues that may arise. The
Intensive Services Unit initiative will implement innovative
approaches to working with individuals who have been placed in the
Supervised Release Program and experience more extensive needs and
challenges that may impact daily functioning and overall program
engagement. This group of program participants manage challenges in
mental health, substance use, employment, medical health and are
often unhoused. The ISU team promotes proactive, sustained
engagement in the community as a catalyst to individual
transformation by bridging participants to community partners and
resources eager to support our participants in realizing their
greatest potential.Salary: The salary range for the Director of
Intensive Service Unit is $95,000 - $100,000 per year.Shift Hours:
The Director of Intensive Service Unit is a full-time Monday -
Friday from 9am to 5pm. Location Address: 4 West 125th Street New
York, NY 10027.Working environment: In-office What you will be
doing:
- Oversee Intensive Services Unit Team Leaders, each managing
10-12 multidisciplinary staff who directly deliver pretrial
supervision and case management services to Pretrial Services
participants within the community.
- Identify, analyze, and offer strategic solutions to challenges
affecting pretrial service delivery that are driven by historical
and current data trends.
- Drive a performance culture rooted in trauma-informed and
evidence-based pretrial services to respond to high-risk
participants, substance use, youth and young adults, older adults,
unemployed participants, people with mental illness, homeless
participants, LGBTQI participants, and women.
- Promote participant satisfaction with services ensuring the
environment is welcoming, staff are engaging, and pretrial release
services promote the opportunity to mitigate risks and address
client needs.
- Help to establish the strategic blueprint for field-based
supervision and voluntary case management as well as connections to
community-based services.
- Plan and implement continuous quality improvement processes
that utilize effective performance management metrics and utilize
program data to inform planning and execution of Manhattan pretrial
operations.
- Develop team leaders to successfully manage staff and reach
full management and leadership capacity.
- Attract, develop, coach, and retain high-performance teams,
empowering them to elevate their competence, impact, and
performance.
- Lead fieldwork-based staff using a performance management and
development process that encourages employee contributions and
includes goal setting, feedback, and professional development.
- Coordinate with community-based organizations delivering
services to participants ensuring their familiarity with court
operations, pretrial supervision and court appearance
standards.
- Work collaboratively with leadership and staff in various
departments across CASES to address challenges and to create
operational solutions and standards for participant services and
court-based advocacy and communication.
- Work with the Clinical Director to develop training curriculum
and policy as well as procedure materials to support new and
existing staff with onboarding and continuous training and
professional development.
- Facilitate and sustain a culture that embodies diverse walks of
life, ideas, genders, ages, races, cultures, sexual orientations,
abilities and other unique qualities in the court-based teams and
across CASES.
- Support the management of the department's budget working with
pretrial services leadership and partnering with fiscal to forecast
and reconcile the Manhattan Pretrial Services budget; recommend
timelines and resources needed to achieve program goals.
- Lead and work on special workgroups and committees to promote
CASES' mission and strategic priorities.
- May require extended working hours, evenings or weekend
coverage on a needed basis. What we are looking for:
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required.
- 3+ years of demonstrated progressive experience supervising
managers.
- Commitment to serve participants with criminal legal system
involvement at high risk for criminal recidivism.
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
- Highly developed management, analytical, and motivational
skills.
- Excellent written, oral, presentation, and facilitation
skills.
- Track record of delivering sustained quality work product.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse team.
- Ability to remain highly organized in the fast-paced, busy
environment of pretrial services. Preferred Skills:
- Proficient in using computers and computer databases,
